Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) is a technique using permanently installed seismic cables to extend the life of an offshore oil or gas field. Like many new concepts, PRM has been slow to take off, but is starting to make waves in the offshore world.
Global Marine Systems Ltd recently presented at the Third EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) Workshop on Permanent Reservoir Monitoring and has made its presentation, entitled “Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) System Installation: The Installers Perspective,” available on its website at http://www.globalmarinesystems.com/uploads/images/news/prm-an-installers-perspective.pdf.
An older article from Statoil describes PRM from a producer's perspective. This can be viewed at http://www.statoil.com/en/TechnologyInnovation/OptimizingReservoirRecovery/Pages/2012_13Dec_Permanent_Reservoir_monitoring.aspx.
