China Telecom, Intelisys Partner on Transpacific Services

China Telecom Americas has partnered with Intelisys, Inc., a ScanSource company and the nation’s leading Technology Services Distributor, to extend China Telecom’s service offerings. Interoute Cloud Heads to São Paulo

Interoute, the global cloud and network provider, has announced the launch of new services in São Paulo, Brazil. The site is Interoute’s first in South America, and will deliver a range of connectivity solutions in collaboration with local partners, as well as host a new Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC) zone. This latest addition to Interoute’s platform builds on its existing Americas presence in Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Washington.

Bulk Infrastructure Partners with Epsilon for Cloud Access

Epsilon, a privately owned global communications service provider, has partnered with Bulk Infrastructure, Norway's leading data center developer and partner in the recently-announced HAVFRUE transatlantic cable system, to deliver rapid access to the world's leading Cloud Service Providers. Bulk Infrastructure will be deploying the Cloud Link Exchange (CloudLX) module of Infiny by Epsilon on-demand connectivity platform in its Oslo Internet Exchange (OS-IX) carrier hotel.

Digital Realty Trust, Inc. announced that its Chief Operating Officer, Jarrett Appleby, and Chief Technology Officer, Chris Sharp, will participate on two panels during PTC’16: Reimagining Telecoms, taking place January 17-20, 2016, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii. The presentations will provide executive insight into the network infrastructure evolution, public to private data center transition and what next- generation telecoms will mean for today’s businesses.

On Monday, January 18 at 3:30 PM, Mr. Sharp will join moderator Joe Weinman, Author of Cloudonomics and Digital Disciplines, and representatives from Cisco, PortaOne, Inc., The University of Tokyo and Verizon Partner Solutions during the Executive Insight Roundtable: “Do Networks Really Need to Change for the Internet of Things?”, taking place in Coral 1. The session will explore the need for a new network infrastructure to address the bandwidth-intensive demands of the Internet of Things (IoT).

Mr. Appleby, alongside moderator Anthony Christie, Chief Marking Officer at Level 3 Communications, and representatives from DataGryd, Internet Initiative Japan, Inc. and Equinix will discuss the trend of data centers shifting from a public to a private management strategy on the Executive Insight Roundtable: “The Shifting Data Center.” The discussion will take place Tuesday, January 19 at 3:30 PM in Coral 2, and will discuss how operators across the globe are making this transition to maximize efficiency and meet individual customer solution requirements such as hybrid IT/cloud, mobile and social deployments.

CenturyLink Completes Expansion of New York Fiber Loop

As bandwidth requirements and the need for flexible, high-capacity solutions continue to grow, CenturyLink has completed a new metro fiber loop in Greenwich, Conn. This is the fifth in a series of fiber loop expansions completed along the East Coast in the last 12 months including Stamford, Conn.; Hartford, Conn.; Norwalk, Conn. and White Plains, N.Y. This new expansion provides enterprise customers with access to CenturyLink's global product portfolio (which includes a large submarine cable network from its 2017 acquisition of Level 3 Communications), additional business continuity disaster recovery (BCDR) services, as well as fiber path diversity.
