PLDT Announces Full Year 2017 Results

PLDT Inc. announced its unaudited financial and operating results for the full year 2017 with Consolidated Service Revenues (net of interconnection costs) totaling P143.5 billion. Though 3% lower than the previous year, service revenues stabilized in 2017, as the decline in quarterly wireless revenues moderated in the course of the year. Unlike 2016, when service revenues declined quarter on quarter, PLDT posted three quarters of modest sequential increases in 2017, starting in the second.

Pico’s extensive evaluation process culminated with the selection of Zayo and the design of a solution that includes two diverse rings connecting major financial markets for Pico in the U.S., Europe and Asia, with fully diverse subsea, terrestrial systems and cable landing stations.

Pilot Deploys Telia Carrier’s IP Transit Services

Telia Carrier announced a partnership with Pilot, which has deployed its IP Transit services throughout the northeastern U.S. These services enable Pilot to expand its regional infrastructure, support backbone traffic and enhance the end-user experience. The company’s high-IQ fiber-optic internet offers businesses speeds of up to 10 Gbps in offices and 100 Gbps in data centers. Pilot has worked with Telia Carrier for the past two years to provide seamless solutions to more than 1,250 businesses and 75,000 end users.

AfDB Supports Gabon's Optic Fiber Backbone Project

The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Gabonese National Agency for Numerical Infrastructure and Frequency (ANINF) have signed agreements a feasibility study for the country’s component of the Central African Backbone (CAB) project. The project is an integrated, innovative and transformative infrastructure which consist of completing the 901.8 km fiber optic connectivity to cover 14 missing links on the Gabonese national backbone.
