Chile’s President Celebrates Completion of Austral Cable Lay

Chilean President Sebastián Piñera led the celebration for the completion of the cable installation for the submarine portion of the Austral fiber optic network, on May 28 in the city of Puerto Montt.

EirGrid, RTE Apply for EC Funding for Celtic Interconnector

Ireland’s electricity grid operator EirGrid and its French counterpart Réseau de Transport d’Electricité (RTE) signed an application for European Commission funding for the Celtic Interconnector. The two companies are submitting a request for funding under the Commission’s 2019 Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Energy Programme.

Hengtong Optic-Electric Co Ltd. has announced its intentions to buy Huawei Technologies’ 51% share of Huawei Marine Networks (HMN), according to a filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
