Consortium Files Application for New Transatlantic Cable

An application has been filed with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) by Edge Cable Holdings USA, LLC, Aqua Comms (Americas) Inc., Aqua Comms (Ireland) Limited, Cable & Wireless Americas Systems, Inc. (CWAS), and Microsoft Infrastructure Group, LLC, for a license to land and operate a non-common carrier fiber-optic submarine cable.

State of Oregon Describes Issue at Jupiter Landing Point

There has been considerable media coverage of an incident during the drilling for the Jupiter transpacific cable at the Oregon landing point.  The drilling was being conducted by Edge Cable, a unit of Facebook, which is responsible for the Oregon landing.

FCC Grants License for JGA North

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has grant of a cable landing license to the RTI Solutions, Inc., RTI JGA Pte. Ltd., and RTI Connectivity Pte. Ltd. for the purpose of landing, and operating a non-common carrier fiber-optic submarine cable system, the JGA North cable system, connecting Piti, Guam to Minami-Boso, Japan.
