OFCC Receives Dept. of State Lands Partnership Award

The Oregon Fishermen’s Cable Committee (OFCC), an Astoria, Oregon, based non-profit that works with commercial fishermen and subsea fiber-optic cables, received the Dept. of State Lands 2018 Partnership Award from the State Land Board on June 11.

Under the theme ‘Critical Infrastructure across the Oceans—protecting submarine cables and the marine environment,’ the International Cable Protection Committee (ICPC) held its largest Plenary meeting in the organisation’s history with a diverse submarine cables and related industry audience of about 150 delegates from 14-16 May 2019 in San Diego, California USA.

SMD Deliver CBT2400 Trencher to Boskalis

Soil Machine Dynamics Ltd (SMD) announced the delivery of an ultra-high powered, compact 2400hp Cable Burial Tractor (CBT2400) to Boskalis.

Ørsted has awarded WIND a 20-year framework agreement for the storage and onshore handling of all its array cables and accessories at WIND's site in Velsen, The Netherlands. The contract relates to all of Ørsted's current and future European offshore windfarms.

Swan Hunter, along with partners DOC, have successfully completed load-in spooling operations for the Elia Modular Offshore Grid (MOG) project. The contract was awarded to load-in and store 5km of the Modular Offshore Grid spare export cable from the new-build Tideway Living Stone cable lay vessel.
